Josephine M. DuBois, 95, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at her home at Autumn Fields, Savoy, IL surrounded by her family. She was born the daughter of Louis and Lillie (Marcotte) Lagacy near Momence, IL on November 30, 1926. She married Joseph M. DuBois on June 20, 1953, and they were together for 55 devoted years.

Josephine is survived by her daughters, Matilda DuBois (Richard Adkins), and Marilyn Branson (Max); grandchildren, Danielle (Adkins) Gray and Leslie Adkins; great-grandchildren, Gabriel Gray, Daniel Gray, and Paris Gray; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lillie; husband, Joseph; brothers, George, Henry, Lawrence, and Philip; and sisters, Cecilia, Isola, Marguerite, Maria, and Rose. Josephine was the youngest and last surviving member of the greatest generation in her family.

Josephine worked with her husband in their interior decorating business and later as a waitress for 18 years at Yesteryear, a fine dining restaurant located in the historic B. Harley Bradley House in Kankakee, IL. Years later, her 90th birthday celebration was held there, and she also appeared in "An American Home", a PBS documentary regarding the Bradley House. In retirement, Josephine enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, traveling, and volunteering with the "bread ladies" at her church.

Josephine was known for her deep faith, love of family, and kindness to all. She will be dearly missed by those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL 61820. A Funeral Mass will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at St. Patrick Church, 708 W. Main St., Urbana, IL 61801. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Bourbonnais, IL on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
