Josephine 'Jo' Buchar

Danville- Josephine Marie Buchar, 86, of Danville passed away at 5:51 PM on Thursday, September 6, 2012 at Hawthorne Inn of Danville. She was born on December 10, 1925 in Yugoslavia to Joseph and Josephine Bencic Znidarsic. She married William "Bill" Buchar. He preceded her in death in 1974. Surviving are four children, Ann Ghibaudy, Merri Jo (David) Brant, Will (Mary Igo) Buchar, and Lindy Sedlmayr; a sister, Joann Elliot; grandchildren Leslie(Jeff) Stone, Abby (Adam Schenk) Ghibaudy, Janna, and Amy Ghibaudy, Andrew Brant, Emily (Ben) Sprague, Bill (Sonia) Buchar, Bobbi Jo (Matt) Otto, Jill and Patrick Buchar, George, Robert, and Ellen Sedlmayr; and four great-grandchildren. Jo was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Jo was a very strong person and it showed in her work ethic. She was involved in many activities and was a leader in the community. Jo was actively involved in the United Fund, Garden Club, and was a Girl Scout Leader. Jo's biggest pride and joy was her accomplishment in establishing a real estate broker presence in Danville. She eventually started her own business, Buchar Real Estate. Jo thoroughly enjoyed gardening, sewing, decorating, cooking, and entertaining. A service to celebrate the life of Jo Buchar will be held at 1 PM on Monday, September 10, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Father Greg Nelson will officiate. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1 PM prior to the service, also at Sunset in Danville.
