Josephine B. Jo Scott

Josephine B. Jo Scott 85 of Covington passed away at 1:34 P.M. Friday June 15, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, Ky. She was born September 9, 1921 in Boston Massachusetts the daughter of Martin and Mary Flaherty Welch. Jo married Francis L. Scott on February 16, 1946 in La Jolla, CA; he preceded her November 18, 1994. Surviving are three daughters; Patricia Fouts of Villa Hills, KY, Peg (Tom) Burtis of Doylestown, PA, Teresa (Jim) Trees of Dublin, OH, nine grandchildren; Matt Fouts, Sarah Palmer, Kate Campbell, Beth Fouts, Amy Fouts, Laura Fouts, Kathleen Burtis, Paul Burtis and Maria Jo Trees, also seven great-grandchildren. Jo was preceded by her parents, two sisters Mary Donaldson and Anna Meuse and one grandchild Susan Fouts. Before retirement Jo worked as a supervisor with the Radio Materials Corporation in Attica, IN for 26 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Covington serving as Extra Ordinary Minister and past president of Alter and Rosary society. Jo was also a member of St. Pauls Alter and Rosary Society in Danville, IL. She held membership to the Purdue Homemakers Extension Club, also an avid sports fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Pacers basketball, Purdue and the Boston Red socks. Jo loved to visit and have lunch with all her friends. Most of all she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling to see her daughters. A Funeral Mass will be at 12:00 noon Wednesday June 20, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 308 Pearl St. in Covington. Officiating will be father David Rasner. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington. Visitation for family and friends will be 5-8 P.M. Tuesday June 19, 2007 at Sunsets Covington Chapel with a Rosary service at 8:00 P.M.
