Josephine Ann Ellis

Josephine Ann Ellis, 87, of Danville passed away on March 24, 2019 at Hawthorne Inn Nursing Home in Danville.

She was born in Danville on March 4, 1932 the daughter of Melvin and Myrtle (Scott) Flannery. She married James Ellis on January 29, 1952 in Watseka, IL and he survives.

JoAnn will be deeply missed by her husband, Jim, son, Anthony (Tamarra) Ellis of Catlin, sisters, Colleen McGraugh and Betty Meeker, grandchildren, Addison Ellis and Blaine Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Rodney Ellis.

JoAnn graduated from Oakwood High School in 1950. She worked at R&S Printing for a couple years and became a permanent homemaker to take care of their two boys. She loved cross-stitching and was very skilled at it. As well as reading, painting and cooking desserts for friends and family. Her and Jim were members at Batestown United Methodist Church in Danville.

A graveside memorial service for JoAnn will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 29, 2019 at Oakhill Cemetery in Danville with Pastor Patti Wise officiating. Memorials can be made in her name to the Batestown United Methodist Church.
