Joseph G. Resh, 87, of Danville passed away on March 30, 2011 at North Logan Health Care. Joseph was born on July 6, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois son of George and Stella (Zawacki) Resh. He married Lillian Toloczko on March 19, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois. She survives along with three children: Gary (Doris) Resh of Danville, Mark (Lori) Resh of Williams Bay, WI, and Tina (John) Withers of Urbana, IL; three sisters: Peggy Riffner of North Riverside, IL, Pat Clark of Land O Lakes, Fl, and Annie Trojak of West Chester, IL; eight grandchildren: Heidi Resh, Kate Resh, Cooper Resh, Mack Resh, Quinn Asquith, Aaron Asquith, Colin Withers, and Evan Withers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Edward and George, and three brother-in-laws. Joseph graduated from Harrison High School and Worcester Poly Clinic Institute. He was a longtime member of St. Pauls Catholic Church, the Danville Elks #332 and American Legion Post #210, Kickapoo Karvers, and the Pollywogs Fishing Club. He taught and demonstrated woodcarving at Resh Frame Shop & Wood Carving, Festival of Trees, and the annual carvers show. He worked as a supervisor of Mechanical Engineering at Hurletron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 2, 2011 at St. Pauls Catholic Church with Father Greg Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Friday evening at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Danville. In Lieu of flowers please make memorials in Joes name to Danville Public Library Foundation, 319 N.
