Joseph Morris

Joseph Morris, 79, of Urbana, passed away at 2:49pm, Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on April 7, 1939, in Danville, IL, the son of Albert and Josephine {Karcavich} Morris. He was united in marriage to Jeri Furry on September 2, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Westville. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his children, Mike Morris, Sandy Morris, & Tim (Adrienne) Morris; his brother, Frank Chantos; his sister, Bernice Chantos; his grandchildren, Joey, Bobbi, Jeremiah (Teagan), Zach, Megan, Tyler, Sebastian, Theodora, McKenzie, & Amanda; and his great grandchildren, Paxton, Asher, Jalyan, & Justice. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Robert "Bob", Bill, & Steve, and his sister, Pat. Joseph was a proud Veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #218. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Westville. Joseph always enjoyed helping family with any construction projects they had. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered always by those whose lives he touched. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, September 29, 2018, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville, with Father Timothy Saupp officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 6:00pm, Friday, September 28, 2018, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, with Rosary service to be held at 3:30pm. He will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, Danville, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #51 of Westville.
