Joseph Michael Irby

Joseph Michael Irby, 74, of Danville, passed away at 10:15 PM on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Joseph was born on August, 11, 1938, the son of Dale Lee and Mary (Arenella) Irby. He married Karen Louise Stewart on June 2, 1960 in Casey, IL. He is survived by one son- Ryan (Tammy) Irby of Georgetown, one sister- Debbie (Rorie) Grimes of Centralia, IL, three grandchildren- Aaron Wakeland, Shane Green and Kari (Chad) Jeffers, one niece- Tammy Whiteley, two nephews- William (Heather) Smith and Jonathan (Teresa) Smith, two great nieces- Mary Branch and Hania Smith, two great nephews- Cody Gould and Mason Smith and one special friend- Barbara McCoy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter- Patty Downing and one grandson-Christopher Deffenbaugh Joseph worked at the VA Illiana Healthcare system in Danville as a dietician. He loved collecting clowns, porcelain dolls, rummage sales and enjoyed spending time with his sister Debbie. A graveside service will be held at Danville National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Pastor John Mincy officiating.
