Danville- Joseph Lee Radliff, 86, of Danville passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born in Danville on July 4, 1926, the son of Herman and Laura Jenkins Radliff. He is survived by a sister, Patricia Rainboth; two nephews, Walter (Allison) Rainboth of Berlin, WI and Joseph Rainboth of Champaign; two nieces Margaret (Chuck) Ferrell of Rantoul and Mary (David) Wernick of Danville; and great nieces, Lauren Ganley, Stacy Vice, Audrey Ainsworth and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joseph graduated from Danville High School and served in the Navy during WWII. He then worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company was an installer for 35 years. After retirement he was Treasurer for the Bell Credit Union and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America retirement organization. Joseph volunteered for Meals on Wheels, enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and frequent patron of the Danville Public Library, and loved his little dog. He was a quiet man who lived a quiet life. As a youth he attended St. John's Evangelical Church, now Danville United Church of Christ and was a past member of American Legion Post #210. A service to celebrate the life of Joseph Radliff will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, prior to the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Danville Public Library.
