Joseph Katavich

Joseph Katavich, 76, of Georgetown, Illinois, passed away on Thursday January 30, 2025, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. Joe was born on September 17, 1948, in Georgetown, Illinois, the son of Jacob and Louise (Clark) Katavich. Joe married the love of his life, Cynthia Kay Katavich, on January 27, 1968, and they celebrated 57 years of marriage just a few days ago. 

Joe leaves behind his two sons; Jay (Tracie) Katavich and Dan (Erica) Katavich, his grandchildren; Jacob Katavich, Madison (Karstan) Lund, Hailey Hunter, and Case Katavich, and a great granddaughter on the way, his sister Kay (Jack) Dugger. 

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Norma Vice.

Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, and mushroom hunting. He was a fan of his boys and grandchildren and always enjoyed watching their events. Joe will be missed by his family and friends dearly. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday February 4, 2025, from 1-3pm at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 200 East West Street Georgetown, Illinois. Service will follow at the funeral home at 3pm. Pastor Joe White will officiate. Cremation rights will be accorded after services.
