GEORGETOWN - Joseph P. Timko, 88, of Georgetown passed away at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday July 25, 2006 at Paris Health Care Center in Paris, IL. He was born on June 8, 1918 in Westville, IL the son of Paul and Anna Timko. He married Esther Link on November 27, 1948 in Danville, IL. She survives. Also surviving: one son, Joseph (Lynn) Timko of Vicksburg, MI; three daughters, Patricia Timko of Seattle, WA, Susan Carrigan of Chatham, IL, and Bonnie Jost of Bullhead, AZ.; one sister, Betty Gillis of Westville; five grandchildren, Phillip & Stephen Timko of Vicksburg, MI, Ryan & Jon Carrigan of Chatham, IL, and Penny Williams of Iowa. Joseph was preceded in death one son, William Timko, four brothers, Steve, Paul, John, and Mike Timko, and four sisters, Marie Schweigerdt, Kay Vehrs, Anna Mayoras, and Helen Joseph was a graduate of Westville High School. He was a veteran and served 4 years in the Air Force and Coast Artillery. Joseph worked as a bus driver for Beeline Transit Corp. and then Meadow Gold Dairy, from where he retired. After retired he worked at St. Marys School as a custodian and bus driver. He was a member of the American Legion Post 51 in Westville and St. Marys Catholic Church. A mass to celebrate the life of Joseph Timko will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2006 at St. Marys Catholic Church. Officiating: Fr. David Erickson. Burial: St. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday July 27, 2006 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Home of Westville.
