Joseph Hoover

Joseph Hoover, 53, of Westville, passed away at 11:12am, Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on November 29, 1960, the son of William Austin and Edna Gertrude {Compton} Hoover. He was wed to Jayne Bednar on February 14, 2009, in Georgetown. She survives. He is also survived by: his sons, Richard Baldwin Jr. of Danville & Frank (Jen) Scotello of Weldon, IL; his daughters, Heather (Stephen) Hoover-Boen of Bismarck, Miranda Hoover of Danville, & Tina (Kim) Rowe of West Lebanon, IN; his seven grandchildren; and his brothers, John (Wilma Bush) Hoover of Danville, Larry Hoover of Indianapolis, & Bill Campbell of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Kallie Scotello. Joe worked for Apple Buick Chevrolet in Covington, IN, as a mechanic and he had also worked for Krupp-Gerlach as a fork-lift driver. He belonged to the Hoopeston Jaycees. Joe enjoyed working on and driving Demo Derby cars, as well as, tinkering with old cars. He also enjoyed dinning out, taking drives in the country, watching old Westerns and loved his animals. Most of all, Joe loved his family & friends and spending time with them. A celebration of Josephs life will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville. Visitation will be 10:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in his name to American Cancer Melanoma Research.
