JOSEPH MALLARD HILLIARD SR. DANVILLE; Joseph Mallard Hilliard Sr., 86, of Danville, passed away at 1:40 A.M. on Saturday, May 15, 2004 at the Illiana Veterans Affairs Healthcare Systems. He was born April 18, 1918 in Thomasville, North Carolina, the son of Thomas Hampton and Elizabeth Mallard Hilliard. Survivors include 4 sons: Jeffrey Hilliard of La Port, Indiana, Joseph (Jackie) Hilliard Jr. of Elkhart, Indiana, Jon (Sharron) Hilliard of Crown Point, Indiana, and Kevin (Terri) Hilliard of Tinley Park, Illinois; 1 brother, Harold (Vera) Hilliard of Thomasville, N.C.; 2 sisters, Lois Brumfield of Charlotte, N.C. and Mary Mc Adoo of Bowie, Maryland; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers. Mr. Hilliard served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant from 1942 to 1946.
