Joseph H. Lord

Joseph H. Lord, 79, of Danville, IL passed away at Presence Hospital in Danville on May 6, 2016. Joseph was born the son of Elmer and Ethel (Seybolt) Lord on October 21, 1936 in New Jersey. Joseph married Judith A. (Nixon) Lord on April 15,1979 in Danville, IL, she survives. Also surviving Joseph are his sons; Michael Lord, Joseph Jr. Lord, James Lord, George (Marsha) Lord, daughter Teri (Sam) (Lord) Gadalaia, step-son Randy Nixon, step-daughters; Tracy (Peplow) Nixon, Lori (Glenn) Harris, Cindy Hanover, two brother Howard (Carole) Lord, Elmer Lord as well and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joseph is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Leroy Lord, Edward Lord, one sister Doris Lord, one son Sam Lord, and a grandson Dustin Peplow. Joseph enjoyed riding his motorcycle as well as racing cars. In his free time, you would also find Joseph in nature enjoying the scenery and fishing. Joseph worked as a maintenance man for 25 years before leaving to drive semis for various companies for 20 years before retiring at the age of 71. A celebration of Josephs life will be held on Tuesday May 10, 2016 at 2PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville burial will follow the service at Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday May 10, 2016 from 1pm to 2pm.
