Joseph Charles Taylor

Joseph Charles Taylor, 88, of Chrisman, passed away at 2:45am, Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Provena USMC, Danville. He was born on December 25, 1923, in Indianola, IL, the son of Bee and Bessie {Murray} Taylor, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Esther Fritz' Dunwoody on November 25, 1948, in Indianola, IL, until her passing on February 8, 1998. He will be missed by: his son, Rick (Pam) Taylor of Chrisman; his daughter, Nancy (Jerry) Hodge of Chrisman; his grandchildren, Shelby (Chris) Phipps of Chrisman, Jefferson Taylor of Jacksonville, IL, Sydney Taylor of O'Fallon, IL, Katlyn Taylor of Chrisman, Clint (Tammy) Hodge of Georgetown, & Craig (Cassie) Hodge of Chrisman; his great grandchildren, Hudson Phipps & Cody Hodge; and his sister, Thelma Baldwin of Indianola, IL. He was preceded in death by: his brothers, Wayne & Eugene Taylor; his sister-n-law, Lucille Taylor; and his brother-in-law, Harold Baldwin. Joe graduated from Indianola High School and was a life-long farmer in the Chrisman area. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chrisman. He enjoyed camping & boating. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his grandkids & great grandkids. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30am, Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Woodland Cemetery in Chrisman with Kenney Bass & Kevin Coe officiating. Memorial donations may be given in Joe's name to Pleasant Meadow Christian Village in Chrisman.
