Joseph A. McEntire, 78, of Mahomet, passed away on November 29, 2015 peacefully at his home. He was born on October 4, 1937 in Tiffin, Ohio, the son of Neil Franklin and Ida Marabel (Peterman) McEntire. He married Nancy Weldon on January 2, 1988 in Mahomet, IL. She survives. Joseph will be deeply missed by his wife, Nancy, son, Rodney (Amy) Taylor, grandchildren; Haden and Hannah Taylor, Sierra Smith, and daughter, Sherryl McEntire. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ancilla McEntire and Kathy Wagner. Joseph graduated from Columbia High School in Tiffin, Ohio before joining the United States Air Force. Joseph was a jack of all trades, constructing many things like his and Nancy's home, radio controlled airplanes, cars and anything he could engineer himself. He was the owner of Mac's Vette Shop in Mahomet. Later working for Cardinal Pools up until retirement in 2002. Joe was a life-long member of Champaign County Radio Control Club. Joe and Nancy loved skiing together in places like Canada, Colorado, Wyoming and Michigan and were members of the Champaign Ski Club for many years. He was in his comfort zone just hanging out in his garage building and engineering things right up until the last day. His family will miss him dearly. A celebration of life memorial service for Joseph will be held at a later date.
