Joseph A. Lane

Joseph "Joe" A. Lane, 61, of Tilton, IL passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021, in Urbana. Joe was born in Danville, IL on November 13, 1959, the son of Francis and Betty Lane.

Joe is survived by his daughters, Lindy (Alim Ladha) McClure, Amanda (Justin) Brooks, and Nichole Scott; grandchildren, Ellie Brooks, Saylor Hibler, Sawyer Brooks, Easton Scott, Aliza Ladha, and Aiden Ladha; siblings, Claudia (Ken) Pickard, Marilyn Sollars, Olivia (Mark) Kuchefski, Frank Lane, and Steve (Pam) Lane; special cousins, Susie Kutter and Joanne Tagert; brother-in-law, Richard Jones; special family, Harley (Sandra) Miller, Tim (Rhonda) Miller, Todd (Michelle) Hawkins, and many nieces, nephews, and special lifelong friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Bonnie Lane, and Catherine Jones.

Joe graduated from Danville High School class of 1978. He worked at Quaker for many years before retirement. Joe was an avid sports fan and particularly enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, U of I, Minnesota Vikings, and the Boston Celtics.

Joes pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He truly enjoyed spending time with them and never missed their events. Joe has never met a stranger; he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10am on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held the evening prior on August 12, 2021, from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home.

The family invites guests to wear their sports attire in honor of Joes passion of sports, Cubs fans are welcome to. Guests are also asked to wear masks and socially distance.
