Jorge De La Hoya

Danville- Jorge Alejandro De La Hoya, 17, of Danville, IL passed away on July 8, 2012. He was born on December 24, 1994 to Alejandro and Teresa De La Hoya. He graduated from Schlarman High School in May 2012. He is survived by his two parents; his younger brother, Antonio De La Hoya; his younger sister, Dania De La Hoya; his grandfather, Alejandro De La Hoya, Sr.; his aunts, Alicia, Aida, Luz, Silvia, Leticia, Juany, Luz Elena, and families; and his uncles, Martin, Daniel, and families. His grandfather, Antonio Rojas, preceded him in death. Jorge loved being active, playing basketball everywhere he could and breaking things in the process. He loved being outside, unless he was feeling lazy. He enjoyed being with his friends, and he loved eating, a lot. He had a passion for art and music, and was an extremely talented guitarist, even writing his own songs from time to time. He was also convinced he could one day rule the world. He will always be remembered as the funny, nice guy that everyone loved. He could cheer up anyone when they were down and treated everyone fairly. He had such a great sense of humor. He had a huge imagination and was a bright guy. He will be missed by everyone who knew him, but we know he's in a better place now, looking down on us and taking care of us. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 444 E. Main St., in Danville. Father Ted Pracz will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Wednesday, July 11 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home at 3940 N.
