Joni Jean Clark

Joni Jean Clark, 68, of Ridge Farm, Illinois, passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman, Illinois.

She was born September 29, 1956, in Mount Carmel, Illinois, daughter of Gene and Charlotte (Patterson) Markle.

Survivors include her mother: Charlotte Markle of Ridge Farm, Illinois; her sister: Kerrie (Mike) Peacock of Springfield, Illinois; her niece: Rachelle; two nephews: Tyler and Noah; and her special four-legged friend, Lola.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Joni graduated from Ridge Farm High School in 1974. Later in life, she worked as the assistant manager at the Family Dollar in Georgetown, Illinois. She loved all animals, but horses held a special place in her heart. Joni was a free spirit and was most content when she was riding horses, Harley Davidson’s and listening to 70’s and 80’s Rock. She loved her family, and she cherished all the time spent with them.

A Celebration of Life for Joni will take place at 11AM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center’s Houghton-Leasure Chapel 200 E. West Street, Georgetown, Illinois 61846. Pastor Raymond Gordon will officiate. The family encourages wearing casual clothing as that is what Joni would want. Burial will follow at Pilot Grove Cemetery in Ridge Farm, Illinois. Visitation will be from 10AM – 11AM on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the funeral home in Georgetown.
