Jojan Shanks

Jojan Shanks, 58, of Metcalf, IL, passed away at 3:49am, Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on September 9, 1962, in Danville, IL, the son of Gale and Patricia {Bowling} Shanks. He is survived by his children, Christina (Clifford) Mikel of Perrysville, IN, Brandon Johnson of Chrisman, Alexis (Robert) Garza of Lafayette, IN, & Mariah Shanks of Boston; his stepchildren, Dylan Ross & Lindsey Ross; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Ziebart, Selena Ziebart, Brayson Mikel, Krowley Garza, & Coulson Garza; his brother, Renie Shanks; and good friend, Tim Moody. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Mike Shanks. Jojan worked in construction during his life. He was a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, thrifting, and karaoke. He was a youth football coach for many years. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. As per his wishes, Jojan will be accorded cremation rites. Friends & family will gather at his home in Metcalf at 3:00pm, Saturday, June 19, 2021.
