Johnny R. Nevels

Johnny R. Nevels, 38, of Potomac, passed away at 5:18pm, Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on March 3, 1977, the son of Johnny Michael and Connie {Miller} Nevels. He was united in marriage to Leanne Priest on April 29, 2012 at Kennekuk Cove Park. They had enjoyed 22 years together and she will miss him dearly. He is survived by: his Mother, Connie (David) Green of Tilton; his children, Dylan Jaggers of Clinton, IN, Gaige Nevels of Potomac, & Jaida Nevels of Potomac; his brothers, Tim (Amy) Nevels of Ridge Farm, Brock Nevels of Westville, & Forrest Green of Danville; his sister., Steffanie (David) Higgins of Danville; his nephews, Bubby Nevels, Brayden, Alexander, & Camden Higgins; and his nieces, Kyra Davis & Jaylynn Davis. He was preceded in death by: his father; his brother, Branden; and his grandparents. Johnny loved music and played the drums & guitar. He worked as a mechanic, but really enjoyed customizing Harley Davidson motorcycles. In his spare time, Johnny also enjoyed boating, camping, shooting firearms, gaming & movies. Most of all, he loved being with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of Johnny's life will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, Westville, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 12:00pm-2:00pm prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, Danville.
