Danville- Johnny Joe Henderson, 54, of Danville passed away at 4:12 PM on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. He was born in Danville on September 21, 1955 to Louis and Mabel Hounshell Henderson. He married Tammy Stonebraker on November 26, 1977 in Danville. She survives. Also surviving are one son Jess (Joy) Henderson; daughter Julie (Nathan) Wadhams; brother Owen (Gail) Henderson; brother-in-law David Bonesteel; and 3 grandchildren Gabriel, Christine, and Ashlyn. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Betty Bonesteel. Johnny was a Journeyman Machinist for Automation International and a pastor in the Church of God. He served the Lord in the clergy for 15 years, becoming a Bishop in the Church of God, and most recently was the pastor at Living Grace Church of God in Danville. He was a hard worker at work as well as home and enjoyed landscaping, working in the yard, and travelling to Tennessee. Johnny loved God and wanted to see everyone saved. He also loved his kids and family and enjoyed his time with them. A service to celebrate the life of Johnny Joe Henderson will be held at 3 pm on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home at 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 1-3 PM on Wednesday prior to the services.
