Johnna Lynn Elliott, 65, of Danville, passed away at 8:40 p.m. Monday July 5, 2010 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana. Johnna was born on December 13, 1944 in Tuscola, Illinois, the daughter of John W. and Evelyn F. (Campbell) Reed. She married Johnny Joe Elliott on June 12, 1964 in Danville. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2003. She is survived by her mother- Evelyn Starks of Danville; three brothers- Allen (Connie) Reed of Danville, Floyd (Cheryl Willard) Hughes of Danville and David (Anita) Hughes of Westville; two sisters- Rose Mary (Joe) Dietz of Danville and Kim (Dave Klein) Board of Champaign; fifteen nieces and nephews- Tammy (Troy) Edgar of Oakland, Scott (Tammy) Barnes of Danville, Danny (Tonia) Barnes of Veedersburg, Melinda (Chris) McMahon of Danville, Jason (Kristal) Reed of Oakwood, Jodi (Ryan) Reed-Harrier of Danville, Justin (Carmen) Reed of Pekin, Jerrad (Tashia) Reed of Danville, Jake Hughes of Oakland, Dusty (Candice) Hughes of Indianapolis, Shane Hughes of Oakland, Bill Board of Champaign, Christina Board of Champaign, Matt (Kelly) Hughes of Westville and Megan (Marlon) Hughes of Danville; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, husband and mother-in-law- Emma Elliott Johnna attended Homer High School and was a member of the Homer Church of Christ. She worked for G.E./Valmont in Danville from 1966 until its closing. After GE, Johnna worked at Autozone Warehouse for 10 years until she retired in 2003. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and going to auctions and rummage sales. She loved to spend time with her family. Since Johnna never had children her nieces and nephews were like her children. She and Johnny raised several dogs together and she had her favorites over the years. A Celebration of the life of Johnna Lynn Elliott will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 9, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home, with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Johnnas name to the Danville Humane Society.
