John Thomas Wheeler

John Thomas Wheeler, 71, of Danville, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013 at his home. He was born to Hilmer "Clifton" Wheeler and Frances "Ruth" (Steven) Wheeler on June 12, 1941 in Danville. In loving memory of our dad, he is survived by his children, John C. Wheeler of Iowa, Sharie L. Smith of California, Sheryl L. Wheeler of California, Danny J. Wheeler of Missouri, Jason T. Wheeler of Missouri, Skip T. Wheeler of Danville and Kelly Thompson of Danville. John was a student at Oakwood High School. He received four Medals of Honor for his service in the US Navy from 1956 to 1969. John was a carpet layer, truck driver and avid western book reader. John did not want a service and had requested cremation. He did receive full military honors at the VA cemetery and there will be a plaque in his honor.
