John T. Warren

John T. Warren, 89, of Danville, passed away at 10:35am on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the Hawthorne Inn in Danville. He was born March 17, 1923, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, the son of Walter and Lydia (Sering) Warren. Both are deceased. He married Bette Rohrabaugh in Lafayette, IN on September 5, 1948. John is survived by his wife Bette, one son, John D. (Margo) Warren of Danville, and Julie (Robert) Serack of Phoenix, AZ. His four grandchildren; Bradley and Brooke Serack, and Alison and David Warren also survive him. In addition to his parents, his two brothers, William H. Warren, Joseph A. Warren, and one daughter, Gayle Ann preceded John in death. John graduated from Crawfordsville High School and attended Indiana University, University of Florida, and the University of Illinois. He served in the United States Air Force during WWII as a pilot in the Aleutian Islands, flying 2x4 Engine Transport Planes. He retired from Prudential Insurance Company in 1985 after 30 years as agent and sales manager. He was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church in Danville, the Danville Elks, and the Life Underwriters Association. A Celebration of John Warren's Life is scheduled for 2:00pm on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center located at 3940 N. Vermilion Street in Danville with burial and military honors being held at Sunset Memorial Park following the funeral service. Pastor Randy Robertson has been asked by the family to officiate the service. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00pm until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the Warren family has asked that any donation made be giving to the St. James United Methodist Church.
