John T. Green

John T. Green, 84, of Bismarck passed away on July 31, 2008 at his home in Bismarck, IL. He was born on December 19, 1923 in Bismarck, the son of Charles L and Mary Sloan Green. He married Geraldine A. Gerry Sloan on December 9, 1961 in Danville. She preceded him in death on December 22, 2007. Also preceding him in death were his sister Mary White, his two brothers Francis Green and Charles Green, and his good friend Byron Bodine. He is survived by a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, several nieces & nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Also, dear friends Bob and Joanne Day and Dale Butch Brown. John graduated from Bismarck High School, was a lifelong farmer and grain hauler. He was a member of the Danville Elks, Moose, Farm Bureau, and St Paul Catholic Church and was a very loving uncle and dear friend to many. A celebration of Johns life will be held on Monday with a Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church at 10:00am. Burial to follow at Gundy Cemetery in Bismarck. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-6:00pm at Sunsets Community and Life Tribute Center ( former Lakeside-Barrick) 3550 N. Vermilion St. Memorials to Vermilion Co.
