John T. Crain, 79, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on September 14, 2024, with his family by his side.
Born in Danville, IL., on June 8, 1945, to the late Arnold A. and Helen (Davis) Crain, he was preceded in death by his wife and the love of his life, MaryAnn (Staley) Crain. They were married on April 7, 1963. He is survived by his children: John R. (Barb) Crain and Tania (Stacey) Tinder; his grandchildren: Justin (Amy) Zarn, Ann (Kyle) Tinder, Joshua (Tiffany) Crain, Crysteena Doan, Taylor (Michael) Wheeling, Lacey (Dustin) Puzey, David (Emma) Delgado, Cindy Delgado; and 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister: Connie Dittmar; sister-in-law: Edna Staley; and a good family friend: Alberto Delgado. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Jim Crain, Julie First, Dave Crain; his great-grandson: Cameron Cheuvront; and several in laws.
John T. was a family man first and forever. He loved spending time with all of his family and never missed any activities they had. He enjoyed cars of all types, specifically his 1954 pink Mercury and his T-Bucket. He attended car shows all over the US and won so many trophies that filled the house. He also enjoyed casinos, playing poker, games of all types, the St. Louis Cardinals, NASCAR, and the Illini. He could always be found with a Pepsi in his hand watching Andy Griffith, Judge Judy and all game shows.
John T. will be missed dearly by all who know him and will forever be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, joking personality and enduring spirit.
A private graveside service for John T. will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park with good friend Mark Ketcherside officiating.
