John Seymour

John Seymour, 94, of Danville passed away peacefully Thursday February 13, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center. He was born July 24, 1919, in Rankin, IL., the son of Herbert and Katherine (Perry) Seymour. He married Mabre Dukes March 9th, 1946, they shared their lives together for 57 years when she preceded him in death November of 2003. John leaves behind two sons; Dennis Seymour, and Douglas (Gina) Seymour both of Danville, ten Grandchildren, and eighteen Great- Grandchildren; two brothers William (Rosalie) Seymour, and David Seymour, sister-in-law Pat Seymour, several nieces and nephews, and some very special friends, Cathy Tiernan and Amanda Burress. John was preceded in death by his parents; one brother Donald Seymour; one sister Hazel Noble; two sons John Seymour the 2nd and Philip Seymour; grandson Jerad Seymour and a sister-in-law Sylvia Seymour. John graduated from East Lynn High School and Black Burn College. He served his country in World War II in the Air Force as a flight Officer, he flew a B-25. John worked at R&S Printing as a foreman of the shipping department, retiring after 36 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, spending time with his sons and grandchildren. John took many fishing trips to Canada with his family, he loved the outdoors and would spend many hours outside. He was a member of Saint James United Methodist Church in Danville. A Celebration of Johns life will be held at 11:00 am. on Monday February 17, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville IL. Reverend Randall Robinson will be officiating. Visitation will be at the Funeral Home from 10:00am until 11:00am on Monday.
