John Sanders

John L. Sanders, 71, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away at 8:15am, Friday, March 13, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born on February 23, 1949, in Danville, Illinois, the son of Jack and Carmen {Williams} Sanders.

He will be missed by: his daughters, Maria (Richard) Knauer of Carmel, IN, and Crystal (Greg) Paauwe of Destin, Florida; his half-brothers, Jason Sanders & Michael Sanders; and his five grandchildren, Anna Thompson, Avery Thompson, Megan Knauer, Caleb Paauwe, & Andrew Paauwe and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, and his sister, Pamela OBryant.

John started his career as a young man in his twenties and continued serving in the insurance industry until his passing. During his career John was a Regional Manager for Physicians Mutual of Omaha and was named the number one agent several times, managing over 50 agents across Ohio, Indiana and Michigan. He was Manager of the Year 7 years in a row. John had a great appreciation for Corvettes, and worldwide travel. His favorite destination was Maui and he traveled there many times over the years. John worshiped at Northview Christian Church in Carmel, IN.

A Celebration of Johns life will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, March 16, 2020, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846 with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery, Georgetown, Illinois. Memorial donations may be given in his name to donors choice of charity.
