John R. Balch, Jr.

Indianapolis, Ind. - John R. Balch, Jr., 77, of Indianapolis, passed away at 3:35 p.m. EST Monday, January 24, 2022 at Indiana University West in Avon, Indiana.

He was born June 15, 1944 in DeKalb, Illinois the son of the late John Robert and Harriet Helen (Reeder) Balch.

Survivors include his daughters: Kim (Jason) Root-Sasseen and Lanetta Smith both of Danville, Illinois; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his son: John Robert Balch, III.

John was a retired security guard where he worked at several different location throughout Indiana. He was a veteran of the United States Army. John enjoyed rebuilding computers, collecting coins, and studying history.

There will be no services. Per John's wish cremation was accorded. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana assisted the family with arrangements.
