John Ohl

John Ohl, 86, of Covington, Indiana, passed away at 11:15pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at The Waters of Covington, Covington, IN. He was born on February 3, 1937, in Danville, IL, the son of Martin and Edith {Martin} Ohl. He was united in marriage to Carolyn White Marshall on January 22, 1994, in Covington. She survives. John is also survived by his children, Mary (Chris) Deck, Mike (Susan) Marshall, Carl (Angie) Ohl, and Sherry (Chuck) Valeu; his grandchildren, Wyatt, Megan, Josh, Tessa, Madison, & Marissa; his nine great grandchildren; and his brother, Terry (Debbie) Ohl. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lisa Ohl; his two brothers, Kenneth & Rodney; and his sister, Shirley. John worked with his dad on a dairy farm in his early years. He later retired from TeePak and later from Lape Farms. He enjoyed going fishing, traveling to Canada, and building log cabins. He really enjoyed the time spent helping on Lape Farms assisting with farming. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00pm (EST), Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Covington, Indiana 420 3rd St. Covington, Indiana 47932. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm (EST) on Tuesday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Lower Mound Cemetery.
