John Novick

John Henry Novick, 74, of Westville, Illinois, passed away at his home on February 9, 2025. John was born the son of John A. and Margaret (Miller) Novick on June 24, 1950, in Danville, Illinois. 

John leaves behind his three boys; Cory (Tammy) Barton of Westville, Illinois, John (Andrea) Novick of Morris, Illinois, and Ethan (Kelsi) Novick of Romney, Indiana, his grandchildren; Nevin Barton, Savanna (Brenden) Pristach, Jody (Alexis) Novick, Olivia Novick, Rowan Crawford, Emery Novick, Jovie Novick, and his grand dog Nala, his great grandchildren; Lincoln, Micah, and Tatum, his sisters, Jackie Moore, and Jill (Jim) Beyers, nieces and nephews; Natalie (Joey) Couch, and there son Jeremiah, Justin Beyers, and his daughter Lilly, and Casi (Frank) Spencer, great nieces and nephews; Trent, Brynn, Natalie, and Maddi.

John was preceded in death by his parents, sister Judy Novick, and a son Jody Barton, his Uncle Toney and Aunt Mary Novak. 

John was a member of IBEW for 33 years, working for Illinois Bell. John enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting. He was a Golden Gloves Boxer and an Eagle Scout, when he was a young man. He enjoyed going on his annual fishing trip with his tool buddies. John was able to build anything, he always enjoyed playing euchre. The love he had for his family will be the biggest thing they will miss. From always making the kids and grandchildren’s sporting events to just enjoying the company of the family. His daily phone calls to his boys will be a big loss for them. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday February 16, 2025, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois, 414 South State Street from 1-3pm. A brief service at the funeral home will be held at 3pm. Cremation rights will be accorded.
