John Morgan

Tilton John Morgan, 80, of Tilton passed away at his home at 10: 24 PM on May 3, 2023.

John was born on March 23, 1943 the son of John and Ruth (Longer-Curry) Morgan. He married Nedra Kay Moody on May 1, 1982 and she survived.

Survivors include his wife, Nedra Morgan of Tilton, IL, daughters, Sandy (Bill Bryant) Warren of Danville, IL, Judy (Pat) Scott of League City, TX, step daughter, Lisa (Tad) Hendricks of Danville, IL, grandchildren, Blake Warren, Shelby Tuggle, Preston and Payton Scott, step grandchildren, Tyler and Chase LeDoux, great grandchildren, Macy Tuggle, and Branch and Rhett Warren as well as his sister, Cindy Curry pf Westville, IL.

John is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lindy Curry, grandson, Patrick Scott and several aunts.

John began his career with the Vermilion County Sheriffs Department in 1976 and retired as a Captain in 2002. He also served as the Assistant Chief of Police in Catlin and retired in 1990. He loved to spend time with Blake and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

As per Johns wishes, cremation rites will be accorded, and private family services will be held. Inurnment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made in Johns name to the OSF Bobette Steely Hegeler Cancer Center, 806 N Logan Avenue, Danville, IL 61832.
