John Merselis Sr.

John Conehead Gaylord Merselis Sr., 49, of Danville, passed away at 12:24 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. John was born on May 11, 1957 in Patterson, New Jersey, the son of Harry V. and June (Faust) Merselis Sr. He is survived by his one son- John G. Merselis Jr. of Cliffside Park, New Jersey; Linda Holness his life partner for the last 5 years. Conehead is also survived by all of his family at the Sons of Silence and the Rising Sons. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother- Harry Merselis Jr. John graduated from Elmwood Park High School in New Jersey. He worked for 8 years in New York for the Famous Indian Larry. John built and painted motorcycles. He was a member of the Sons of Silence. John loved old hot rods and restoring old trucks. He enjoyed painting gas tanks for motorcycles. John loved riding his motorcycle. He was the best of the best and a good brother to everybody who knew him. He will be truly missed by all of his brothers and they will miss all of the good times that they had together on the road. He will be greatly missed and loved by his only son, Conehead Jr. John will be cremated per his request. A service will be held at a later date in New Jersey.
