Champaign, Illinois - John M. Perry, 91, of Champaign, died at 3:50 p.m., August 3, 2015, at Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL. He was born February 23, 1924, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Oval Robins and Martha Adams Perry. He married June Orcutt on September 20, 1949 in Watseka, IL., and celebrated nearly 66 years of marriage. Mr. Perry farmed for many years near Woodland and Donovan, IL. Later, he moved to Champaign and worked in maintenance for Devonshire Realty before retiring. He enjoyed music, traveling, videoing all his travels, going to garage sales and having his own garage sales. He also dearly loved playing with his two furry Shih Tzu grand-dogs - Max & Kona. Mr. Perry, who dearly loved his family, is survived by his wife June; his son J. David (Jonnie) of Avon, IN.; his daughter Peggy Ellen, of Champaign; nephew Frankie Perry Jr. of Watseka; and nieces Donna Jo Campbell of Woodland, Donna Christine Andrews of West Liberty, IL.; nephews Buddy & Jim Perry of Texas, and niece Karen Braudrick of Durant, Oklahoma. He was also known and loved by many family members of his wife's family - the Wests and Orcutts. Mr. Perry, a Christian, served faithfully for 40 years in various capacities in the local congregation of Grace Communion International; and more recently attended First Baptist Church in Champaign. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William "Bud" Perry and Frank O. Perry; and one sister, Leila L. Perry. Visitation for Mr. Perry will be held Friday, August 7 at Sunset Funeral Home, 710 N. Neil St. in Champaign, from 11am-1pm with the funeral service at 1pm. His funeral will be officiated by his son, Pastor J. David Perry. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens, Champaign, Ill.
