John F. "Johnny" King, 69 of Danville, passed away at 2:15 a.m. on Thurday, July 15, 2004 at Provena USMC- Logan Campus in Danville. He was born October 27, 1934 in Dugger, Indiana, the son of Slyvan Ausberry and Pearl Alice (Anderson) King. He married Betty Jean Henneman on July 14, 1954 in Terre Haute, Indiana. They had just celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary the day before his death. Johnny is survived by his wife: Betty King of Danville; 3 Children: Pamela (James) Moreman of Danville, Mary (William) Smith of Jacksonville, FL, John (Jeanie) King, Jr. of Catlin; 5 Grandchildren: Tammy Kirts of Tilton, IL, Sherre (Daniel) Gainey of Chesterfield, VA, Shannon Smith of Jacksonville, FL, William Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Courtney King of Catlin; 3 Great-Grandchildren: Tyler, Faith 1 Brother and 2 Sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 Grandson: Timmy Kirts in 1995. He worked for Old Milwaukee Railroad Company as a Signal Maintainer for 35 years, until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Musicians Union of Danville and he practiced his lifelong love of music by playing rhythm guitar with several bands, most recently with "Johnny and Friends". He loved to spend time with family, especially his children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
