John T. Johnson, 56, of Danville, IL passed away at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville at 10:23 AM on September 22, 2025

John was born on March 14, 1969 the son of Albert and Carole (Rippon) Johnson in Danville, IL. He married Lori Hepburn on March 14, 2006 in Danville, IL and she survives.

Survivors include his wife, Lori Johnson of Danville, IL, his children, Alexandra “Allie” (Donald) Johnson-Swaim of Fithian, IL, John “Louie” Johnson of Danville, IL, grandchildren, Drake Johnson, Porter Kirts, Tucker Kirts, Lybertee Swaim, Lathen Swaim, Kaitlyn Swaim, Mylee Swaim and Gage Hornbrook, as well as three siblings, Chris (Carl) Jones of Tilton, IL, Tammy Johnson of Oakwood, IL and LuAnn Leverich of Tilton, IL and several nieces and nephews.

John is preceded in death by his parents.

John was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan and loved a variety of sports. He loved to cookout, spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed listening to Rock music, especially AC/DC and Godsmack.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
