John 'Jd' D. Finney

John Domenic Finney, (JD) was born in Danville, Il. on December 31st, 1999 and passed from this life on July 6th, 2023. He lived most of his life on a farm south of Bismarck. He participated in various sports including Pee Wee football and youth baseball. Playing football at BHHS for coach Dodd was his favorite where he excelled as a middle linebacker. He received honors of All County, All Conference, was picked for 2nd Team in Champaign and News Gazette All Area. He graduated in 2018. After high school he worked for Krupp Gerlach and proved to be a dependable worker and counted his coworkers as friends.

His family loved him so much. He is survived by two sons, Graysyn and Hudsyn; his mother, Veronica Zordan (fianc Ron Hanson); his father, John (Tammy) Finney; two sisters McKenzie (Andrew) Chic, Madyson Finney (fianc Austin Farnsworth), stepbrother Caydin Long and nephew Kurt Chic. Paternal grandparents, John S. and Shirley Finney and maternal grandmother, Lee Hurder (Byron) also surviving along with many loving cousins, and caring aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Haydin Long, and his maternal grandfather, Armando D. Zordan.

He enjoyed spending time with his two boys, family reunions, boating, skiing, tubing on the lake and driving the truck and tractor on the farm. He appreciated the friendships he had with his buddies Jaren, Colt, Hayden, and Shannon.

We will miss him, and he will always be in our thoughts and hearts.

Visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL from 4 to 8 p.m. CST.

A memorial will be held at Sunset Funeral Home at 10 a.m Saturday, July 15, 2023 followed by a committal service at Huffman Cemetery, at 19457 N. Road. Bismarck, IL. Please share fond memories and condolences with his family on his Tribute Wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com
