John 'Jack' J. Roberts

WESTVILLE- John Jack Jewell Roberts, 70, of Westville, passed away at 1:15pm on Monday, January 23, 2006, at the North Logan Heath Care Center in Danville. Jack was born on October 1, 1935, in Belgium, IL, the son of Lawrence and Martha (Delanois) Roberts. Both his parents precede him in death. Jack was married to JoAnn LaForge on December 10, 1960. She survives. Those who will miss him include: his children, Mark J. (Janie) Roberts of Iowa, Gregory L. (Tracey) Roberts of Virginia, and Barbara J. (Dan) Leaman of Indiana; his brother, Rene L. Roberts; his grandchildren, Molly, Christopher, Courtney and Conner Roberts, Jacob, Jessi, Rachel and Victoria (Tori) Leaman, and Ryleigh and Ronan Roberts; his special friends, Dan (Debbie) Eldridge, Red Nightlinger, Janet Winchester, Butch Delattre, and Dick (Linda) Slazas. He is preceded in death by his two brothers- Lawrence and Ronald Roberts. Jack was a Westville High School graduate, and in 1958, entered into the U.S Army, being honorably discharged in 1960. After the service, Jack was employed at the General Motors Tilton Foundry as an electrician until the foundrys last day. Jack was a long time bowler and enjoyed local as well as traveling tournaments. His memberships included; the Anchor Lodge # 980 for 35 years, Valley of Danville Scottish Rite, and the Gao Grotto. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A celebration Jacks life will be at 10:00am on Thursday, January, 26, 2006 at Sunset Souths Westville Chapel located at 414 S. State St. in Westville. Reverend James Blue will officiate the service. He will be laid to rest at Songer Cemetery in Tilton. Visitation will be 3-7pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in Jacks name to the Vanity Theater in Crawfordsville, IN
