John J. Golden, 89, of Danville, passed away at 11:35am, Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was born on September 22, 1925, the son of John H. and Irene Golden. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Lemon on July 24, 1981, in Las Vegas, NV and enjoyed 35 years together. She will miss him dearly. He is also survived by: his children, Lana (Mike) Denny of Ohio and Scott (Lori) Golden of Danville; his grandchildren, Matt Denny PhD of New Jersey, Molly Golden, & Jon Golden, both of Arizona; his brother, Daniel Golden; his step-son, Troy Lemon of Danville. He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brothers, Hubert, Harry, & Robert; his sisters, Beverly and a step-son, Brad Lemon. John was a true entrepreneur. He built Golden Oil Company along with 22 gasoline service stations and the Short Stop Gas & Convenient Store. He also owned a Kawasaki motorcycle dealership, a farm, and the Spirit Shop Liquor Store. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. As were Johns wishes, there will be no services. He will be laid to rest in Springhill Cemetery, Danville, next to his first wife, Donna (Tutwiler) Golden.
