John "Jack" Wesley Howland III, 65, Danville, went to be with the Lord at 11:50pm EST on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda Maryland. Jack was born in Peoria Illinois on April 25, 1950. He was the son of the late John W. Howland Jr. and Doris L. (Day) Howland. Jack grew up in Chillicothe Illinois, graduating from Chillicothe High School in 1968. Jack joined the Airforce in August of 1969 and served his great country for four years. After his service time he attended the University of Illinois majoring in business. Jack was in the automobile industry for 40+ years and had a passion for helping others. He was known and respected in the community for his knowledge and integrity. Surviving Jack is his loving wife Nedra J. (Malloy) Howland, married July 12, 1969. Two children: Brian (Liz) Howland and Jenny (Bill) Parliament. Six grandchildren: Alexis Martin, Westley Howland, Joah Howland, Kailey Parliament, Kyle Parliament and Jacob Parliament. He is also survived by four loving sisters: Kathy Carpentier, Pam (Jack) Harvey, Barb (Steve) Luckhart, and Lisa Vogel all presiding in the Peoria IL area. Jack enjoyed golf, fishing, bowling, reading his bible, being a part of the Second Church of Christ family, watching sports, and spending time with family & friends. He also was a Mason and Past Monarch of the GAO Grotto. Jack really loved being around people and never knew a stranger. His jokes will be told for years to come. He will be sadly missed by many. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00pm on Thursday, December 10th at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center (with Masonic ceremony to follow) and a celebration of life ceremony will be held at 11:00am Friday, December 11th at Second Church of Christ in Danville with Drew Mentzer officiating.
