John Harris

John Harris, 91, of Danville, IL passed away on Wednesday, November 07, 2018 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born the son of John Harris and Ethel Courson Harris on November 30, 1926. They precede him in death. Also preceding John in death include his brother, Sam Harris, and sister, Mary Kinney. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Harris; two daughters, Sharon (Ron) Neufeld of Danville, IL and Phyllis (Shane) Farris of Danville, IL; sisters, Ruby Allen of Anderson, IN, Martha Foster of Catlin, IL., and Rose Abrams of Grove City, Ohio; sister-in-law, Kay Harris of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren, Lisa Palinski, Justin (Marina) Neufeld, Joshua (Liz) Farris, and Jarrod Farris; and great grandchildren, Ethan Neufeld, Bella Neufeld, and Fletcher Farris. John was an active member of the Danville First Church of the Nazarene. He worked as a milk man for over 40 years. He worked for Bordens, Prairie Farms, and Ryder's. He loved his church and his family. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be missed dearly by the people that knew him. The family would like to give a special thank you to Valerie, John's hospice nurse. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, November 12, 2018 at the Danville First Church of the Nazarene. Officiating will be Pastor Justin Neufeld. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Post 210 will be conducting military rites. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at Sunset Funeral Home at 3940 N.
