John Hacquet

John Hacquet, 91, of Westville passed away at 6:44am, Saturday, July 24, 2010, at his home. He was born on November 11, 1918, in Westville, Illinois, the son of Hubert and Clotine Hecquet, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Beverly L. Atwood on November 27, 1946, in Henderson, KY. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his sons, Robert (Laura) Hacquet of Covington, IN, Dode Hacquet of Dana, IN, & John Scott (Julia) Hacquet of Danville, IL; his grandchildren, Alicia (Roger) Deatherage, Rob (Sondra) Hacquet, Lindsey Claypool, Jeremy Hacquet, & John Hacquet, Randall Wagoner, & Danielle Wagoner; his great grandchildren, Levi, Cali, Zoey, Lilly, Blaine, Josiah, Shiley, & Trece, ; half-brother, Joe McClellan; half-sister, Dorothy McClellan; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, several nieces & nephews; special family, Roland & Judy Atwood and Linda Crow. He was preceded in death by: his infant daughter; his brothers; his sisters; and his grandchildrens mother, Donna Gay. John was a proud Veteran of the US Army. He worked for Conrail for 30 years and then retired in 1979. He enjoyed hunting ducks and other foul as well as squirrels, he once shot 107 squirrels in 1942. He also enjoyed fishing on the Wabash. John was a part of the baseball team back in 1943 to 1948 Bubble UP Team sponsored by Brazas. He loved life and was kind to everyone and had never met a stranger. He treated everyone with respect. He was will be lovingly remembered by his family & friends. The family would like to thank the Provena Hospice, especially Sherry, for their wonderful help.
