John Grubb

John Grubb, 82, of Westville, passed away at his home on October 7, 2022, at 1:46am. He was born in Georgetown, IL, the son of Donald and Garnet {Holstine} Grubb on May 18, 1940. On May 5, 1962, he was united in marriage to Sally Sue Galyen in Georgetown until her passing on October 28, 2020. John will be missed by his children, John Robert Grubb II, and Shelly Thornton; his grandchildren, Trisha (Jon) Brooks, Ben (Lexi) Thornton, Harrison Grubb, Mikayla Grubb, & Jerome White; his great-grandchildren, Oliver Thornton and Eden Brooks, with one more on the way; his sister, Mary Murphy; his sisters-in-law, Donna Grubb, Connie Morden, Carol Galyen, Judy (Danny) Hammonds, Pam (Bob) Depratt & Claudia Galyen; his brothers-in-law, Jim (Janie) Galyen, Don (Judy) Galyen, and Ron Hart. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Grubb; his son-in-law, Randy Thornton; and brothers-in-law, Ed Murphy, John Galyen, Robert Galyen, Clyde Morden, and sister-in-law, Sandra Hart. John was a life-member of the NRA. He worked as a truck driver. When he wasnt driving, he enjoyed being outside whether it was cutting wood or hunting. He and his wife enjoyed traveling together. John loved family and spending time with them, especially telling jokes and making them laugh. As per his wishes, John will be accorded cremation rites with no services. His family entrusted his arrangements to Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Georgetown, Illinois 200 E. West St. Georgetown, Illinois 61846.
