John 'Gator' Degrofft

John "Gator" DeGrofft, 68, of Champaign passed away at 6:45am on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at his home. He was born April 26, 1948 in Champaign the son of Clifford and Wilma Kingston DeGrofft. He was united in marriage to Linda Danison on February 19, 1988, she survives. He retired from the Laborers Union Local #703. He will be missed by: two sons, Derek (Sara) DeGrofft and Neal (Marisa) Remmers; daughter, Valerie (Vincent) Smith; also many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandmother, Louise Kingston. KAFBA Gator's wishes will be honored with cremation. Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family.
