John A. Frazier, 70, of Danville, passed away at 2:00pm, Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at his home. He was born on May 21, 1947, in Danville, IL, the son of Johnnie and Alice {Marema} Frazier. He was united in marriage to Ruby Gayle Spencer on March 1, 1969. She will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by: his father & stepmother, Johnnie (Lucille) Frazier of Danville; his sons, John Allen (Robyn) Frazier of Greenville, OH, James Eric (Vicki) Frazier of Westville, IL, Joseph Lee Frazier of Fairbury, IL, & William Lee (Amber) Frazier of Ithaca, OH; his chosen sons, Harry Burton Jr. of Hutto, TX, Larry Davis of Cayuga, IN, & Scott Coffey of Danville, IL; his grandchildren, John Frazier of Greenville, OH, Cory (Merissa) Frazier of Quantico, VA, Jessica (Logan) Crace of Columbus, OH, Megan (Aaron) Pratt of Westville, IL, Laura Ann Frazier of Westville, IL, Kenneth (Sabrina) Smitley of Marion, TX, Joseph D. Frazier of Fairbury, IL, & Kaitlynn Frazier of Metropolis, IL; his great grandchildren, Eli Dean & Elise Frazier of Greenville, OH, Maylene Crace of Columbus, OH, Dallas, Mallory & Marshall Frazier of Quantico, VA, and Liza Frazier & Skye Pratt of Westville, IL; his brothers, Paul (Val) Frazier of Westville, IL, Keith Frazier of Rantoul, IL, Clayton (Debra) Frazier of Rydal, GA, & Barry (Regina) Frazier Longmont, CO; his sisters, Karen (Alfred) Lientz of Rantoul, IL, Carol Frazier of Rantoul, IL, Sandra (Larry) Draper of Oakwood, IL, Dianna (Dean) Brennaman of Danville, IL, Lori Frazier of Danville, IL, & Beth Ann (Michael) Glass of Florence, KY; and his nephew, Timothy Spencer of Jamestown, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Dukes, and his grandson, James "Jimmy" Frazier Jr. John was a proud Veteran of the US Navy serving 1964-1968. He worked for General Motors Powertrain in Defiance, OH for 25 years. He was a wonderful person and the family is going to miss "our little darling person". The family would also like to send a special "thank you" to his wonderful and caring VA Nurse, Amy Russian-Crist, and also to Transitions Hospice: Aaron Soule, Lisa Watson, Jill Morrow Klein, Theresa Sroufek, Melissa Rivera, Chaplin Keith Warner, and social worker, Jan Warner. These beautiful souls always lit up our home with each visit. At the request of our father, John asked that everyone come as you are to the memorial services. A Memorial Celebration of John's life will be held at 6:00pm, Saturday, October 21, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S State St, Westville, with Pastor James Blue officiating. Visitation will be held 4:00pm to 6:00pm prior to his service at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be given in John's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
