John Wendal Ellis age 86 of Danville passed away at 3:38 a.m. Saturday May 1, 2004 at Provena Logan Campus in Danville. He was born April 24, 1918 in Bismark the son of John P. and Effie Briggs Ellis. Wendal had married Esther Ribbe on August 25, 1940 in Danville she survives also three sons; Terry (Guity) Ellis of Burbank CA, Jack (Linda) Ellis of Cincinnati OH, and Steve (Vivian) Ellis of Greenacres FL, one brother; Elwood Ellis of Bismark and one sister Jane (Harry) Golden of Bismark, seven grandchildren; Dustin (Mastaneh) Ellis of Los Angeles CA, Deren Ellis of Los Angeles, David Ellis of Denver CO, Eric Ellis and Angela Ellis both of Cincinnati OH, Jenni Ellis of Orlando FL, Andy Ellis of Greenacres FL. Wendel was preceded in death by his parents. Wendal was a graduate of Bismark high school and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WW 2. He had worked for the C&E.I. Railroad for 36 yrs as a traffic manager, Wendal was a 32 Degree mason and had owned and operated the Ellis TV and sales service wich was the first RCA Dealership in Vermilion Co. At age 80 he learned how to use a computer and enjoyed sending E-Mails to friends and family, Wendal had a positive outlook on life and often saying he could not wait to get up in the morning
