John Edward Strader 80 of Danville passed away 12:15 p.m. Sunday December 10, 2006 at North Logan Health Care. He was born November 6, 1926 in Danville, the son of George M. and Helen Strader. John married Patricia Rose on April 18, 1945 in North Fork, VA. They were married for 52 years until her passing in 1997. He was preceded in death by parents, loving wife Patricia, brothers George and William and Sister Georgene Strader. He is survived by eleven children: Michael (Brenda) Strader of Decatur, Judy (Jerry) Glatz of Las Vegas, NV, Cody (Michael) Miller of Danville, George (Terry) Strader of Davenport, Iowa, Kevin (Vicki March) Strader of Brooklyn, NY, Paul (Sarah Louis) Strader of Santa Ana, CA, Jeff (Janet) Strader of St. Louis, MO, Matt (Kimberley) Strader of Chambersburg, PA, Steve (Debbie) Strader of Danville, Melissa (Brian) Ronto of Danville, Andy (Mary) Strader of Mission Viejo, CA; 28 grandchildren, Jonathan (Michelle) Strader, Molly (Gene) Fruit, Samantha (Josh) Hager, Brian Shaver, Cassidy and Michael JR Miller, Matthew and Katie Kieffer, Rachel, Jenney, Dan, Beth and peter Strader, Lucas Strader, Abraham, Sarah and Angela Strader, Jeffery, Jack and Kevin Strader, Jeremiah and Josh Drake, David and Christopher Strader, Jake (Meredith) , Justin and Jenna Strader and Emily Ronto, also 6 great-grandchildren. John attended the University of Illinois; he served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was employed by Lauhoff Grain Co. for over 20 years and later became Vice President of D.W. Tyler Co. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday December 13, 2006 at St. Pauls Catholic Church, 1303 N. Walnut St. Danville, Il Officiating: Father Greg Nelson. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials: Illiana Alzheimers Fund of Provena USMCF or St. Pauls Catholic Church. Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 P.M.
