John E. Mckee 87productive years of life, of Danville passed away at 4:34 p.m. Wednesday September 12, 2012 at Colonial Manor in Danville. John was born on April 10, 1925 in Fairmont,Il, the son of Robert" Harve" and Virginia Walters Mckee. He married Virginia F. Sims on November 2, 1947 in Danville, she will miss him dearly. He will also be missed by his son's Mark McKee of Danville and Larry( Betsy) McKee of covington, his grandchildren; Molly, Tristan McKee and Jason (Dixie) and Lauren Enos, four step-grandchildren; also five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Julie Enos, a sister Marjorie Ward. John was a member of the Kickapoo Carvers Club. John liked to visit his friends every Wednesday and Saturday's at the Oakwood truck stop. He was a member of the Glaziers union. John was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Philipines and with the Occupation forces of Japan during WW I I,.He enjoyed gardening, carving and painting, John loved more than anything to give his carvings to family and friends. John started working for P.P.G. Glass Industries for 20yrs then later worked for Bacon& Vanbuskirk. John was an expert in Carpentry and building. John was always watching CNN news channel and loved to argue over pollitics with anyone. Most of all John enjoyed his family and his grandkids which they will miss him dearly. A celebration of life service for John McKee will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday September 15, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home & cremation Center. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery.
