John Dale 'Jd' King

John Dale J.D. King, 43, of Georgetown, passed away at 8:18am, Sunday, August 31st, 2008, at Provena USMC, Danville. He was born on April 20th, 1965, in Danville, the son of Dale King and Pam Jenkins. He was married to the true love of his life, Tammy Gibson, on September 21st, 1991, in Tilton. He will be missed by: his mother, Pamela (Ted) Kopacz of Danville; his father, Dale (Connie) King of Jacksonville, FL; his son, Jesse Lee King of Overland Park, KS; his step-grandfather, Larry Rollins of Georgetown; his siblings, Buddy King of Danville, Tracey (Scott) Hart of Georgetown, & Terri (Troy) Brown of Danville; his step brother, Scott (Tracy) Kopacz; his half sister, Kristi (Bryan) Weir of Georgetown; his aunt, Beverly (Doug) Walbley of Ft. Mill, SC; his cousins, Darla Kraemer, Shawn, Shannon, Tammy Jenkins, as well as, several other cousins, nieces, & nephews. JD was preceded in death by: his grandfather and namesake, John Cleo Jenkins; his grandmother, Lela Jenkins-Rollins; and his paternal grandparents, Henry & Audrey Leroy. JD was a musician and loved playing the guitar, and was a carpenter by trade. He played in different bands and also enjoyed writing songs. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and watching the Cubs. He loved more than anything in life spending time with his son, Jesse. He will be missed by his family and friends. A celebration of JDs life will be held at 10:00am, Friday, September 5th, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will be 4-8pm, Thursday, September 4th, 2008, at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Memorial donations may be given in JDs name to a college fund for his son, Jesse.
