John D. Lugoski Sr.

John D. Lugoski sr 88, of Westville passed away at 6:33 pm, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the home of his daughter. He was born on December 23, 1921 in Westville the son of Joseph and Anna Ludwig Lugoski. He married Leona M. Whimpey on August 10, 1946 in Westville, they were married for 62 years, and she preceded him on September 7, 2008. Those who will miss him are: his children, J.D. Lugoski of Tilton and Pam (John) Brewer of Westville; two grandsons, A.J. Brewer of Westville and Kevin Brewer of San Diego, Ca; also his special Prospecting friend, Terry Sraemak of Arizona; and his grand dog, Sydney. He was preceded in death by his parents. John was a proud veteran of the U.S Marines serving in the island of Peleliu in the South Pacific. He was employed at Chanute Air Force base in the Instrument Dept for 30 plus years. After retirement he worked for Underwriter Labs as an inspector for 19 years. He was a member of the Westville American Legion post 51, he enjoyed prospecting, electronics, fishing and having fun with his family and friends. A celebration of life funeral service for John D. Lugoski SR will be 11:00 am Wednesday September 15, 2010 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, A Life Celebration Home. 414 S. State St. Westville, Il. Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 pm Tuesday September 14, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with Military Rites by Westville American Legion Post 51. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to American Legion Post 51 of Westville or Vermilion County Conservation District or American Cancer Society.
